North Carolina Clan

O'siyo to all, I am Bright Sun , I am honored to be the new Clan Chief of Virginia and acting Clan Chief of North Carolina and West Virginia. I am from Virginia, I was born on Assateague island on the Eastern shore, where my father and mother lived in a log cabin where the horses run free in the ocean and woodlands.

My heritage comes from many generations of Cherokee and Apache. I am a storyteller,I have shared many legends of our culture and heritage. I have taught many lessons of our life through my stories I also am one of the co-founders and council of the United Indian Nation, I hold the Eastern gate to the sacred circle of our unity

The examples I have learned from, have been elders very close to me in spirit, I have learned any sacred ways from native people, from many places, that gave of their heart and time to make sure that I learned in the proper way.

I owe my brothers Red Hawk, Blackhawk and Swamp Rat for guiding me in all times and for giving me the honor of being their sister and sharing their life and times and also for watching over me!

My son Sparrow Hawk is my gift from the Creator, he grew up in the Native American life and has embraced everything with wisdom beyond his years and learned to walk in two worlds with pride.

As the Clan Chief of Virginia, I will share everything with Sparrow Hawk, for one day he will take my place as a teacher and leader of the next generation to follow us, my intentions are to be available to all members and Chiefs and to make everyone proud. We will share many meetings, gatherings and powwows where we will unite and grow to know each other Our ancestors are very proud of us, for in prayer their spirits see us, hear us and walk with us.
