I am 1/20th degree Cherokee. I’m also of Creek and African decent. I am a descendant of the Cook family of Crookson Hills in Oklahoma. My Great-grandfather was Jim Cook, the younger brother of William Tuttle Cook, the infamous leader of the Cook gang of Indian Territory (Oklahoma) in the 1890’s. I was born January 21 1941, in Tulare, California. My folks migrated from Oklahoma, and Arkansas during the Great Depression. I lived in Arkansas and Oklahoma during part of my childhood days.

I am married to the same woman for almost 50 yrs. We have 4 children, 9 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.

I am a sweat lodge leader, and spiritual adviser. I perform weddings, and officiate funerals. I also do other ceremonies, such as, day of dead and the fire ceremony. I do naming and dedication. I am a Tribal Elder of The United Cherokee Nation (UCN).

My religion is basically Pantheistic (Pre-Colombian native). I am not Christian, Jew, nor Muslim.

My wife is 3/4 Native (Tarahumara/ Navajo), we both have been involved in Pan-Indian activities ( Pow-wows etc.) most of our lives.

I’m a lead singer of a drum group "Ancient Thunder ". I brain tan hides. I build dance outfits, and numerous beadwork projects.

My professional life has included, ranch work, factory, substance abuse counseling and food processing. My main occupation is butcher / meat cutter. I still do the later part time.

I will continue to try my best to bring others into The Gathering.

I’m always open to suggestions on how to do that.
